Casa Grande zoning panel to consider commercial center changes

Casa Grande Dispatch

In its first meeting of the new year, the Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission is to consider a zone change to accommodate a new commercial complex near Interstates 10 and 8.

CG zoningThe meeting is set for 6 p.m. Thursday in the council chambers at City Hall, 510 E. Florence Blvd. It is open to the public.

Developers have proposed to build Regional Gateway Commerce Center on a 525-acre site near the future planned residential community Casa Grande Mountain Ranch.

The two developments would complement one another, according to a city staff report.

A master land use plan for the site calls for classifying about 9 of the 525 acres as commercial, 44 acres as business park, about 4 percent as light industrial, 35 acres as garden office and 162 acres as corporate office. About 9 acres would be classified as central park or open space.
