Glendale Council represented at national level

Three members of the Glendale City Council have been appointed to serve on the National League of Cities (NLC) policy committees and member councils for 2014.

Mayor Jerry Weiers was re-appointed to the Military Communities Council and to the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee. Councilmember Gary Sherwood was selected to serve as the vice-chair of the First-Tier Suburbs Council and as a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Councilmember Sammy Chavira was appointed to serve on the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee.

Each of the policy committees and councils at NLC is responsible for developing federal policy positions, which guide the legislative activities of NLC throughout the year as they lobby on behalf of cities and towns in Congress.
