The city council unanimously approved an architecture firm’s request Tuesday to change zoning requirements to allow a developer to build more one-story homes within the Santa Rosa Springs community.
The request received the support of many neighborhood residents who expressed their approval at the meeting. However, a public safety issue regarding a single entrance and exit to the neighborhood was left unresolved.
Council members were asked to consider an ordinance to amend current zoning requirements that limit the amount of space a structure, such as a house, can occupy on a given lot. Tempe-based architecture firm, LVA Urban Studio LLC, was requesting on behalf of developer, Elliot Homes, to build on more area.
