The San Carlos Apache tribe is moving forward with plans to build a new casino in Pinal County.

The $26 million Apache Sky Casino, near Aravaipa — about 25 miles northeast of Oracle — will employ 400 people and is expected to take 18 months to build once ground is broken in April.

Pinal’s economic development program manager told the Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce about the plans Dec. 5.
