Paradise Valley cries foul over USPS delivery suspension

The United States Postal Service has suspended home delivery to 10 Paradise Valley homeowners due to a beautification project along Tatum Boulevard that converted asphalt paths to decorative sidewalks with colored concrete.

The homeowners are crying foul and want service reinstated.

USPS officials say the new man-made sidewalks create a safety issue, while Paradise Valley officials say nothing has really changed — except for the new surface replacing the already existing sidewalks.

Town officials say the topography hasn’t changed since the $298,491 beautification project was completed, which covered the existing sidewalk for about one mile along Tatum Boulevard from Lincoln Drive to Desert Jewel.
