Revised zoning for Scottsdale Airpark finds supporters, detractors

A revised zoning district approved by the Scottsdale City Council this week could prompt greater building heights and density in the Scottsdale Airpark area.

With a 5-2 vote, the council adopted an ordinance approving a text amendment to the city’s zoning ordinance regarding the planned commerce park zoning dis­trict. The amendment will be in effect in 30 days.

Councilmen Bob Littlefield and Guy Phillips opposed it. In addition, former Airport Advisory Commission member John Washington spoke out against it.
