BOISE, Idaho, Dec. 2, 2013 — /PRNewswire/ — WinCo Foods, LLC announced today that it will open its newest discount supermarket at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 5th. The store occupies approximately 97,000 square feet and will include WinCo’s new red and black decor package that creates a solid, clean feel and coordinates nicely with the hundreds of new WinCo Foods private label products the company has recently introduced. The Gilbert store is located at 1967 E. Pecos Road and will initially employ approximately 130 individuals, about 110 of whom are newly hired from the area and will become WinCo Foods’ newest employee owners.
WinCo Foods is an employee owned discount grocery chain known primarily for being the supermarket low price leader in each market it serves. Store Manager, Wendy Holland, transfers to the store from Mesa and has been with the company for 19 years – the last four engaged in store management. The management team and crew are enthusiastic about opening a new WinCo Foods store in Gilbert. Ms. Holland indicates that excitement for the new store is building among potential customers. She looks forward to working with the new employees to help the community get to know WinCo better and to provide a great customer experience for all of our new friends.
The store features WinCo’s traditional “Wall of Values” at the entry, which has particularly good pricing on a wide variety of popular items. The main sales floor of the store encompasses a large fresh produce department, bulk foods, meat, deli, seafood, and bakery service departments. The unique bulk foods department displays over 900 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies, cereals, flours, pastas, spices and more. We are excited for customers to come in to check out the new store and to continue to benefit from the everyday low pricing and quality that WinCo Foods is known for.
