The sun could charge a future generation of MacBooks if the Apple Inc.’s newest patent goes into effect.

Apple has received a patent for a laptop with a back side that holds photovoltaic cells for solar charging, according to Apple Insider.

The rear side also has a secondary display and sensors that can be used to detect touch input. In some cases, the back of the computer could be made with electrochromatic glass, which can let light pass through only when desired.
