Bartle enters LD 11 Senate race instead

Republican Scott Bartle, longtime Maricopa resident, small business owner and member and former president of the Maricopa Unified School District Governing Board, announced Tuesday his switch to run for the open Senate seat in Legislative District 11 currently held by Sen. Al Melvin, R-Tucson. Melvin has announced his race for governor.

Originally, Bartle announced his candidacy for the House, but said he can have the greatest impact in the Senate.
