Cave Creek is inching closer to its second permanent town manager in more than a decade.

On Monday, Jan. 6, the Town Council will review the contract for Peter Jankowski, town administrator for Dudley, Mass., and former town manager of Athol, Mass.

He was unanimously chosen over two other candidates — Himanshu Patel, former interim director of public works for Pinal County and former town manager of Florence; and James Palenick, interim town manager of Dallas, N.C., and former city manager of Gastonia, N.C.

The agreement is effective Feb. 10, and runs through June 30, 2016. It includes an annual base salary of $130,350 and up to $15,000 reimbursed for relocation expenses.
