Medical marijuana grow house for Cottonwood gets initial OK

A complex in the Cottonwood industrial area has been permitted as a “grow” house for medical marijuana.

The Cottonwood Planning Commission Monday unanimously granted a conditional use permit for a single year for a building on Cherry Street. The cultivation operation, proposed by Zonacare will be leasing a building formerly used by Griffith Enterprises for assembly of wiring harnesses for automobiles. Griffith has moved to a new building near Camp Verde. Tom Pender now owns the property.

Zonacare has operated a medical marijuana dispensary in Sedona for a year “with no complaints.”
