While plans for PhoenixMart are likely to be on the Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission’s agenda several times this year, developers say they are not certain when plans for a related site, the old outlet mall on Jimmie Kerr Boulevard, will be resubmitted.

“It’s hard to say when we’ll resubmit those plans,” said Brad Holyoak, project manager for AZ Sourcing, developers of PhoenixMart.

AZ Sourcing owns two plots in Casa Grande, the 585-acre Phoenix- Mart site off Florence Boulevard and

The developer could seek up to $17 million in reimbursements and that funding would likely come from bonds issued by the Post Ranch Community Facility District. The 585-acre PhoenixMart site is one of two parcels in that district.

Meanwhile, Casa Grande is seeking construction manager for PhoenixMart

Infrastructure work on PhoenixMart could begin by late March and construction of the actual 1.5-million-square-foot building could be underway by late summer.

“Infrastructure work and building construction can overlap as long as work beneath the building is finished before construction starts,” said Brad Holyoak, project manager for AZ Sourcing, developers of PhoenixMart.

The city of Casa Grande has posted a request for qualifications on its website,

seeking a construction manager to build 4 miles of streets, install water and sewer lines, improve landscaping, conduct grading and drainage activities and coordinate between various utility companies.
