Prescott officials aim to draw industries to airport area

In its efforts to bring new industries and jobs to the area surrounding the Prescott Airport, the City of Prescott is poised to take on the role of an entrepreneur.

To do that, a more aggressive approach is needed to deal with the “fierce” competition for jobs and capital investment.

Those were among the points that Prescott Economic Initiatives Director Jeff Burt made during at a special Prescott City Council meeting Tuesday morning.

Nearly 50 landowners, developers and residents turned out for the kick-off of a new airport strategic planning process, which city officials say will be a months-long collaborative effort.
