Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone, long time ago?
~Pete Seeger
Pete Seeger, the singer, folk-song collector and songwriter who spearheaded an American folk revival and spent a long career championing folk music as both a vital heritage and a catalyst for social change, died on Monday in Manhattan, The New York Times reported. He was 94.
There are few flowers left. Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Paul Stookey, to name some.
With a few exceptions for C&W, today’s music lacks thought, story-telling, intellect, musical artistry, vocal talent, meaning. It’s just a cacophony of noise and screamers who try to set the Guinness World Book of Records for the highest note. Today’s music is no more than a stage show of decibels and sex.
Today’s music is crap.
RIP Pete.
