Scottsdale-based Walton International Group paid $9.7 million for ±417 acres at I-10 and Kortsen Road in Casa Grande. The seller was I-10 & Kortsen, an entity formed by Benross Corp. in Phoenix, and the seller was represented by Ben Heglie, Bret Rinehart and Ryan Semro of Land Advisors Organization in Scottsdale.
The property, known as Southern Trails, is approved for up to 1,030 single-family units, 180 multi-family units and 77 acres of commercial.
Walton last year paid $6.18 million to purchase an adjacent ±319 acres. That seller was Auza Ranches, and the property, known as Vista Ranch, is approved for up to 792 single-family units on 240 acres, 320 multi-family units on 20 acres, and 60 acres of commercial.
Walton also owns a neighboring ± 630 acres known as Casa Grande Commons at the I-10 and Kleck Road adjacent to the Promenade at Casa Grande Regional Shopping Mall and approved a for single-family/multi-family residential, commercial, office and retail uses , including a future auto mall.
Walton has been an active buyer of land in Maricopa and Pinal counties and is still interested in buying additional parcels. It is a multinational real estate investment and development firm concentrating on the research, acquisition, management and development of strategically located land in major North American growth corridors, with more than 75,000 acres of land under management.
