Avondale Councilman Jim Buster turned in his resignation after the city manager hired him to lobby for Avondale during the legislative session.
Buster resigned Friday, Jan. 31 and it takes effect Feb. 1.
City Manager Charlie McClendon said four firms competed for the temporary lobbying contract. The field was narrowed to two, and McClendon chose Buster’s company because of the councilman’s experience with the city and knowledge of its issues.
Buster, 58, joined the Flagstaff-based lobbying company G & C Consulting LLC.
