With social media growing at a seemingly impossible pace, businesses and municipalities alike have had to decide how involved they want to get.
Until now, the City of Coolidge has been hesitant to get involved with sites and apps such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. But Joyce Baker, the director of the Coolidge Public Library, wants to change that.
“Unfortunately, we’re not playing in that field right now,” Baker said. “We at the library would like to move forward with connecting with the people who visit the library.”
Baker said the demand to get more connected with visitors has led her to develop social media policies both for city employees and public visitors to adhere to should the city move forward with allowing social media profiles.
“We have been requested to do this by patrons,” Baker said. “People who come to the library would like to be able to access events and announcements through social media.”
