Interest is growing among downtown area residents and property owners in the town’s “DC” Downtown Commercial zoning, with several applications pending.

The town is now combining these applications, with the approval of property owners, for a single town application for rezoning the properties to DC. Benefits of DC zoning include more potential uses for downtown area properties with fewer regulations, such as onsite parking requirements.

Because it’s a town application, property owners can file for the rezoning with no fee. Interested downtown-area property owners who haven’t yet filed for the rezoning may call the Florence Community Development department at 868-7575 for more information.

No dates have been set for the Planning & Zoning Commission or the Town Council to hold public hearings or vote on the rezonings.
