State Treasurer Doug Ducey dominated the GOP field in terms of fundraising for the governor’s race with more than $1 million raised in 2013, while presumptive Democratic nominee Fred DuVal raised about $800,000.
Meanwhile, former GoDaddy executive Christine Jones put a half million dollars of her own money into her campaign and spent more than that last year in her bid for the Republican nomination.
Ducey, whose campaign announced in January that he had already hit the million-dollar mark, made good use of Arizona’s new campaign contribution limits, raking in a significant number of $2,000 and $4,000 contributions. He raised about $830,000 that can be used for the primary election and about $226,000 that must be saved for the general election, if he wins the Republican nomination.
