Feds to reimburse Arizona for opening the Grand Canyon after shutdown

The federal government will repay states, including Arizona, that reopened national parks such as the Grand Canyon during the October shutdown. Arizona spent $465,000 to reopen the Grand Canyon during the 17-day government shutdown, worrying about the negative tourism impact if the park was closed.
