Yuma lands on a variety of lists indicating how it is doing in comparison to other metro areas of the country, but the latest one has local leaders wincing.

According to a recent report on 24/7 Wall St., Yuma is among the cities with the highest rate of shrinking economies.

The report lists the Yuma metropolitan area tied for the third-fastest contracting economy.

Based on the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ most recent economic report, produced in conjunction with forecasting company IHS Global Insight, 24/7 Wall St. identified the metropolitan statistical areas with the largest growth and contraction in real gross metropolitan product during 2013. Figures for 2013 GMP growth are estimates.
