The intended use for a partly burneddown property whose rezoning case has been presented as an opportunity for redevelopment is as a medicalmarijuana dispensary. That context complicated a recent Planning and Zoning hearing, where board members had to analyze the rezoning request as if they didn’t know what the plan for the site was — and as if several neighbors hadn’t showed up to fight it.
The board voted unanimously to approve the request. It was not immediately clear when the City Council will review it.
The parcel in question spans a bit more than half an acre on the north side of Main Street between Recker and Power roads.
