Improvements to the Cottonwoods Resort and Suites on the Scottsdale-Paradise Valley border are taking longer than expected.
Representatives of the property asking for resort operations on 5 acres of the 27.5-acre site have gone back to the drawing board after the Paradise Valley Planning Commission voted last month to deny recommendation of the proposed special-use permit.
Commissioners had concerns over proposed density, traffic and lack of neighborhood support.
Paul Gilbert of Beus Gilbert PLLC, a land-use attorney representing WSRH Cottonwoods LLC and WSRH Scottsdale Land LLC, was expected to submit amendments to the plan this week.
