The Scottsdale Airpark, one of the Valley’s biggest concentrations of employment and business, took a serious hit in the recent recession.
Vacancies in the 3,300-acre area rose to their highest levels since the Airpark, anchored by the Scottsdale Airport, was first developed almost 50 years ago.
Employment, which had reached the 50,000 mark for three straight years starting in 2006, sank below that level, although it remained high compared to earlier years.
The facts and figures come from a report done annually since 1981. Jim Keeley, founding partner of Collier’s International’s Scottsdale office and senior vice president of the real-estate services firm, has published the report each year. The 2013 report is expected to be released in a week.
