Monarch Power Corp. wants to change the way people look at energy.

The Scottsdale-based company is working to invent, produce and sell low-cost, renewable energy products. Founder, president and CEO Joseph Hui often is seen driving around the Valley in his orange Tesla Roadster with his company’s Lotus mobile solar system sprouting from the passenger seat. He also dons an Arizona-flag cape to make public appearances as his alter ego, Solar Man, to promote fair competition against utility giants such as Arizona Public Service Co.
