Listen: ADOT spokeswoman Laura Douglas discusses Phoenix to Tucson rail
ADOT is reaching out to the public about the prospect of a Phoenix to Tucson train.
A passenger rail that would connect Phoenix and Tucson.
Laura Douglas with the Arizona Department of Transportation has been studying the possibility for two years, and now they want to know what you think.
“This week the Arizona Department of Transportation kicks off a series of public out-reach events, and also online participation,” she said, “so that we can get input on our three potential rail-routes.”
ADOT wants to know how the public feels about where it should go, how it should be paid for, and, of course whether or not it should even be built at all.
“This is another opportunity for the public to provide their input, about how we should move forward,” she said. “And what alternatives most appeal to them.”
