Somebody needs to press the Staples “Easy” button.
The Arizona Wildcats came into Viejas Arena in San Diego facing a competitive eighth-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs on Sunday evening, but the No. 1 seed dominated basically from the get-go, rolling to an 84-61 decision and into the Sweet 16.
Arizona built a lead as big as 21 in the first half, but Gonzaga closed it to 47-34 by the break. Sean Miller’s club picked up the pace in the second half and jumped up by as much as 28 with 2:27 to go.
The Wildcats are returning to the Sweet 16 for the second year in a row. They are slated to face San Diego State University in Anaheim, Calif., on Thursday, March 27 — roughly scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
