Peg Chapados announced her candidacy for the city council Tuesday.
“I was appointed to council in November 2012. It has been my privilege serving the residents of Maricopa and I would be honored to continue in that role,” Chapados said in a press release.
A Maricopa resident since 2006, Chapados is a community volunteer and advocate for planned growth, increased and improved citizen engagement and raising the bar for those serving their communities, according to the press release.
She has served on several council boards, committees and commissions before her current appointment to the council and since.
