Metro Phoenix’s new-home market picked up a bit in February after a dismal January.
Last month, 724 new houses sold across the Valley compared with 659 in January, according to analyst RL Brown Reports. However, over the first two months of the year, new-home sales are down 20 percent from 2013 pace.
Home building activity climbed in February, with 813 permits issued. In January, 677 single-family permits were tallied across the Phoenix area, making it one of the slowest months for home construction in the past decade.
