Chandler – HCW LLC in Branson, Mo. (Rick Huffman, Sam Cantanese, managers) is working to develop a 303-unit apartment complex at the southeast corner of Chandler Boulevard and Hearthstone Way in Chandler. The planned multi-family community is targeted for 7 acres of a 12-acre tract that surrounds the southwest corner of Chandler Boulevard and Chandler Village Drive. Public records in Maricopa County show Chandler Apartments LLC (HCW entity) paid $7.878 million to buy the 12 acres. The seller was The Met of Chandler LLC in Scottsdale (Alana Mann, principal). Mann’s company is remaining in the new ownership group and will be a venture partner in the development. HCW has filed for zoning approval in Chandler to develop three, four-story buildings in a project being called The Met at Fashion Center. The address for the multi-family community is 3657 W. Chandler Boulevard. Plans show a mix of 172 one-bedroom units and 131 two-bedroom units with floor plans ranging from 668 sq. ft. to 1,140 sq. ft. No word on projected rental rates or start of construction. At $150,000 per door, the complex would cost $45+ million to develop. A preliminary plat has been filed and City Council in Chandler is expected to address the case March 27. Continue reading
