Forget the rabbit: Finance Director Coral Loyd reached into a hat and pulled out a cool $1 million in additional revenue.
City Manager John Dougherty made the announcement at the beginning of a daylong budget work session Friday.
“Coral through her magic made it $2 million,” said Dougherty. Earlier in February, Loyd told Mayor Janet Watson and the City Council that the city was on track to earn about $1 million in additional sales tax revenue after a half-cent increase to the sales tax went into effect July 1.
