New homes at Presidio finally underway

Presido in the PinesBy Suxanne Adams-Ockrassa | Arizona Daily Sun

Presido in the Pines is finally starting to pick up steam.

“We’ve been getting a lot of traffic out there,” said Annette Kershner, one of the agents selling homes for Miramonte Homes.

The cost of a Miramonte home in Presido ranges from $299,000 to $329,900 and depends on a number of factors, including the floor plan and the amenities a home buyer might want to add, Kershner said.

Capstone Homes also has houses for sale and under construction at Presidio, with prices starting at $290,000.

The 91-acre project off Woody Mountain Road, originally slated for 900 homes along with shops and offices, has hit a number speed bumps since it was approved by the city in 2005.

Premiere Acquisitions and Luxury Lofts, the original developers of the project, filed for bankruptcy protection in 2008.

Seventy lot owners sued the city in 2010 to complete the necessary improvements to streets, sidewalks and utilities in the project. Some of the lot owners had received foreclosure notices from their bank after Premiere filed for bankruptcy.
