Paradise Valley braces for loss of a revenue stream

Changes in the way a specialty construction-sales tax is levied will affect Paradise Valley’s future operating revenue, officials say.

A tax-reform bill approved by the Arizona Legislature last year that changes the way construction materials are taxed will eliminate an annual revenue stream of $500,000, officials say.

Financial Director Scott McCarty said this is one of four operating-revenue streams that will not return to pre-recession levels.
