A seven-member committee has been appointed to scrutinize newly proposed rules and regulations for Casa Grande Municipal Airport and address some concerns expressed by local aviators.
The proposed rules impose new parking restrictions and cover issues ranging from hangar storage regulations to loitering and prohibiting pedestrians from soliciting rides.
“These new rules have upset everyone who uses the airport. The rules are incredibly restrictive,” said Joe Williams, a pilot and airport user.
Airport Manager Richard Wilkie said the proposed document is a draft and he’s open to changes as long as the final version complies with Federal Aviation Administration rules and is in line with public safety requirements.
“We really want the input from everyone who uses the airport. We want to come together and produce a good document,” he said.
