Scottsdale City Manager Fritz Behring wasn’t expecting a public outcry when he recommended selling a downtown property to raise funds for capital-improvement projects.
However, longtime city activists have banded together to let city officials and the City Council know they won’t let the Community Design Studio be sold without a fight. The building, at 7506 E. Indian School Road, is one of three properties Behring recommended selling to raise money for projects.
The other two are the human resources building at 7575 E. Main St. and the McKnight building at 4021 N. 75th St. If the council agrees, Scottsdale would put the buildings up for sale and relocate existing offices.
