Russ Jones, a Yuma businessman and former state lawmaker, has been named by Gov. Jan Brewer to fill a seat on the commission overseeing the Arizona Power Authority, the state agency responsible for acquiring and marketing power generated from the Colorado River.
Jones, president of Richard L. Jones Customhouse Brokers, was nominated to fill the remaining four years of the term of retired Lt. Gen. John Hudson of Yuma, who stepped down for personal reasons after serving 14 years on the panel.
Jones’ nomination is subject to confirmation by the Senate, which Jones said could take up the matter within the next several weeks.
