Work on a new 307-home subdivision could soon begin near the intersection of McCartney and Trekell roads.

The Casa Grande City Council on Monday approved a development agreement and plans for Arroyo Grande, a103-acre subdivision. Plans for Arroyo Development Director Paul Tice told council members voiced some concerns about traffic the subdivision is likely to add to an already-busy McCartney Road.

Tice said a traffic analysis would be required with each phase of the project. “If we think the study is outdated, we can ask that it be updated,” Tice said. The development agreement approved by the council requires the developer to pay $125 per lot to the city to offset the impact the subdivision might have on McCartney Road, Casa Grande Avenue and Peart Road.
