A request to build a residential development near the Chandler Municipal Airport has hit a roadblock but plans for a hotel and conference center on the Price Corridor move forward.
The Chandler Planning and Zoning Commission on April 16 voted 5-1 to recommend denial of the single-family subdivision and unanimously supported the Price Road business park. Commissioner Phillip Ryan voted to support the project and Commissioner Andrew Baron abstained.
The residential proposal was for 90 two-story homes at the northeastern corner of Arizona Avenue and Queen Creek Road.
While there are single-family homes in the general area, this 14-acre site is designated for commercial or high-density residential.
