Tempe – Consumer Cellular Inc. in Tigard, Ore. (John Marick, Greg Pryor, principals) plans to double its size in the Valley in a new call center the company is opening in Tempe. The cellular service provider will house the operation in a 85,245-square-foot back-office located within the Tempe Commerce Park at 7410 S. Roosevelt Street. The property is owned by a venture formed by Everest Holdings in Scottsdale (Joe Blackbourn, principal) and Walton Street Capital LLC in Chicago, Ill. (Perry Pinto, et al., principals). Sources say the privately-held Consumer Cellular signed a roughly $9 million lease to occupy the building for 8 years. Mike Nye of Capacity Commercial Group in Portland, Ore. represented Consumer Cellular. The property owner was represented by Rick Lee of Lee & Associates Arizona Inc. in Phoenix. The cellular service provider is vacating 37,000 sq. ft. of leased space in Phoenix at 8181 S. 48th Street.
