Cottonwood looks at southern annexation

The Cottonwood City Council generally agreed Tuesday to move forward with the annexation of Arizona State Land located at the south end of the city limits along SR 260, but also to invite Camp Verde to take part.

If the annexation moves forward, it would add about 960 acres to the city’s size.

Cottonwood officials say the offer was proposed a couple of months ago after the State Land Department was alerted by the Department of Transportation that it is planning roundabouts as part of the four-lane upgrade of SR 260.
