Cottonwood sells itself on Phoenix billboards

Good looking simple signs are attracting more visitors to the offerings of the Cottonwood area.

Cottonwood and the Old Town Association are promoting Cottonwood this month with billboards placed along the Interstate in Phoenix. Lana Tolleson, president of the Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce, said the billboards are part of a cooperative agreement with the Arizona Office of Tourism, the Cottonwood Economic Development Commission and the Old Town Association.

Tolleson said, “At different times of the year, the Arizona Office of Tourism offers opportunities to partner and share expenses in marketing, by paying 50 percent of the cost. That is the way we originally launched the Verde Valley Wine Trail and that has been a great venture.”
