Homeowners seek state intervention in Yarnell Hill Fire losses

Twenty-three property owners whose homes were destroyed by the June 30 Yarnell Hill Fire say they were underinsured and cannot properly rebuild.

They claim that their insurance companies either deceived them about the extent of their coverage or simply miscalculated the policy amount that was necessary to cover their homes.

The discrepancies between the cost to rebuild and their insurance settlements are as high as $200,000.
