How much an Arizona family must make to afford rent

To afford a basic two-bedroom apartment in Arizona, a renter needs to earn about $17.52 an hour. A renter in metro Phoenix must make $18.40 an hour.

The state’s minimum wage is $7.90.

A new report shows about 53 percent of Arizona renters don’t earn enough to afford a two-bedroom unit.
