Nancy Smith has announced her candidacy for a two-year term on the city council to fill Leon Potter’s seat.
Potter resigned to run for mayor. His seat will be filled on an interim basis until a new council member is elected in November to fill it.
Smith said her conservative principles are a key characteristic that will make her an asset on the council. She said she understands how critical it is for the city to support local businesses, maintain a balanced budget and keep taxes low.
These focus areas will result in a healthy city, she said in her press release, and at the same time, provide a community atmosphere where businesses and residents see continued progress based on financial stability.
