Pulte takes pitch for closed Lakes golf course to homeowners

Pulte Homes has begun meeting with small groups of Ahwatukee residents to explain its plans to build roughly 300 homes on the closed Ahwatukee Lakes Golf Club property.

Pulte has signed a memorandum of understanding with golf-course owner Wilson Gee to buy the property and is completing its due diligence before closing the purchase.

To build homes on the property, Pulte must gain 51 percent approval of the more than 5,000 property owners governed by the Ahwatukee Board of Management. The property also would have to be rezoned by the Phoenix City Council and sign-off must be given by a laundry list of regulatory agencies.
