Rail, freeways give Pinal County an advantage in Tesla plant competition, leaders say

Pinal County officials and business leaders say the county has three sites that could house Tesla’s ion-battery giga-factory.

They tell The Arizona Republic the confluence of the Union Pacific Railroad and Interstates 8 and 10 are advantageous for location of the proposed $4B plant, which could employ 6,500

Jim Dinkle, executive director of Access Arizona, a business group that seeks to attract companies to the area told The Republic, “We are flattered that Tesla is considering Casa Grande and Pinal County. We are not surprised, because of our location.”
