Scottsdale ranks as the sixth-safest city in the nation, according to Movoto.com, an online real estate site.
The 100 most populous cities were ranked based on per-capita statistics for property and violent crimes, as well as the chance of being a crime victim as established by the FBI.
Movoto reported Scottsdale had one murder per 100,000 people and 147 violent crimes in 2012, making it one of the safest big cities. The latest crime statistics showed a 4.4 percent decrease in serious crimes in 2013 compared with the prior year.
The city reported its crimes were at their lowest levels since 1984.
