Water rates rising across Santa Cruz County

Water in the desert is a precious commodity that grows ever more expensive as witnessed by a number of rate increases or proposed hikes by providers throughout Santa Cruz County

Tubac

Saying it needs to recover costs of providing service since 2007, EPCOR Water has filed a request for a water rate increase that could average 90 percent for its customers in Tubac.

The last time rates were raised was in December 2009. It took about a year between the time the water company (Arizona American at that time) announced it would seek a rate increase, and the approval by the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC).
