WESTMARC Summit: Economic growth tends to happen along the freeways

WESTMARC’s recent 2014 Economic Development Summit provided its members and community leaders with updates on current and future plans for economic development in Western Maricopa County and the West Valley. The event featured two panels of professionals who addressed current issues and opportunities for future economic success in the West Valley and Western Maricopa County.

The half-day event started with a welcome from Michelle Rider, President and CEO of WESTMARC, and an introduction of the first panel of speakers and panel moderator.

Mike Schwab, principal, Land Advisors, and Northwest Valley specialist, spoke about population being a major force behind residential economic growth which often serves as a catalyst for commercial growth; restaurants and furniture stores, for example, will build in an area to support residents.
