About 60 residents of the Yavapai Hills neighborhood gathered Saturday near Lee Boulevard and Highway 69, carrying signs protesting a proposed senior housing complex planned for a high-profile hilltop.
Touchmark at the Ranch would include 379 units, including a combination of independent living, assisted living, and memory care, according to a company spokesman.
The project drew the ire of nearby residents when it was initially announced as an 80-foot-high structure in February. The City of Prescott requires a special-use permit for buildings taller than 50 feet, and the company was given Planning and Zoning Commission approval for that height.
